No recovery background needed. No Intuitive Eating experience required. Just bring your Enneagram type and your curiosity.
This class is for people who want to understand not just what they do around food — but why.
The Enneagram is a map of motivation. It shows us the fears, defenses, and longings that shape our behavior long before we become aware of them. When we apply that map to our relationship with food, something shifts. We stop blaming ourselves. We start understanding ourselves.
Each month, this class follows one Intuitive Eating principle and explores it through the Enneagram, recovery, spirituality, and Two-Way Prayer — not as a lecture, but as a guided conversation.
The Four Lenses
Every principle we explore passes through the same four lenses
Enneagram
Understanding the motivations and fears beneath your patterns.
Recovery
Practicing emotional sobriety, one honest moment at a time.
Spirituality
Trusting something larger than willpower alone.
Two-Way Prayer
Not just talking to God, but listening too.
What We Explore
Six interwoven themes that guide our weekly journey
The Intuitive Eating Principles
Each of the 10 IE principles explored through the lens of recovery and the Enneagram.
Every principle lands differently depending on your type. This is where we figure out why yours works the way it does.
The Nine Enneagram Types
How each type’s motivations, fears, and patterns shape our relationship with food.
Not as a label that limits you — but as a doorway into understanding yourself with more compassion and less shame.
Recovery and Emotional Sobriety
Finding freedom and peace through the principles of recovery and emotional wellness.
Recovery isn’t just about food. It’s about learning to feel, to need, and to ask for help — and finding out that’s not weakness, it’s healing.
Two-Way Prayer
Listening and surrendering — spiritual practices that support each principle and type.
We don’t just talk at our Higher Power. We listen. Every session ends with a moment of quiet and a question worth sitting with.
Food and Body Image
Exploring how our type shapes our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors around food and body.
Food is rarely just about food. We’ll look at what’s underneath — and meet it with curiosity instead of judgment.
Weekly Practices and Reflection
Guided reflection questions and practices to carry each week’s exploration into daily life.
You won’t leave with more information to manage. You’ll leave with one question worth carrying — and the space to let it work on you.
About This Class
A Companion to the Intuitive Eating Principles
Each month, this class follows the Intuitive Eating principle being introduced through Surrender School’s Intuitive Eating series.
While the monthly principle introduces the core Intuitive Eating concepts and workbook practices, Intuitive Eating Through the Enneagram explores those same principles through personality, recovery, spirituality, emotional sobriety, and Two-Way Prayer.
Together these perspectives help us understand not only what we do around food, but why we do it.

Principle 7: Cope with Your Feelings with Kindness
Food is one of the ways many of us learned to cope with feelings we never learned how to feel.
This month’s companion exploration examines how each Enneagram type tends to manage difficult emotions, and how recovery invites us to feel our feelings instead of eating, avoiding, or fighting them.
“What feeling am I most often trying to escape?”

The Journey Continues
Healing our relationship with food is not about becoming someone else.
It is about becoming more fully ourselves.
Through the wisdom of the Enneagram, recovery, spirituality, and Intuitive Eating, we learn to replace judgment with curiosity, fear with trust, and self-criticism with compassion.
Whether you come for the Enneagram, for recovery, or simply because something in you is ready — you are welcome here.
