GOING DEEPER: TYPE 5 & STEP TWELVE
↓
For returning participants: Step 12 invites your insight to become shared, embodied, and connected. For Type 5s, this means moving from observing life to participating in it — allowing your wisdom to serve others through presence and engagement.
Gentle reminder: You do not have to withdraw to be safe. Your presence, your voice, and your participation matter.
1) Carrying the Message (Through Participation)
Aim: Share your experience by showing up, not staying separate.
- Speak from your lived experience, not just insight.
- Allow yourself to be seen and heard.
- Engage with others instead of observing from a distance.
- Celebration cue: Your willingness to show up creates meaningful connection.
2) Daily Practice of Principles
Aim: Stay engaged in life instead of withdrawing.
- Notice when you are pulling back or retreating.
- Pause and ask: “What is one small way I can stay present?”
- Choose participation over isolation.
- Celebration cue: Each moment of engagement builds connection and vitality.
3) Service as Presence
Aim: Let service be relational, not distant.
- Be present with others instead of staying in your head.
- Offer your presence, not just your knowledge.
- Allow connection to be simple and real.
- Celebration cue: Presence is one of the greatest gifts you can offer.
4) Discernment: Withdrawal vs. Engagement
Aim: Recognize when you are disconnecting from life.
| Withdrawal | Engagement |
|---|---|
| Pulling back, observing, conserving energy | Showing up, participating, connecting |
Celebration cue: Each step toward engagement expands your life and connection.
5) Short Connection Prayers
- “God, help me stay present.”
- “Guide me into connection.”
- “I can participate in this moment.”
Celebration cue: These simple prayers bring you back into life and relationship.
6) Weekly Reflection
- Where did I withdraw?
- Where did I stay present?
- How is my life reflecting connection?
Celebration cue: Reflection strengthens your ability to stay engaged and connected.
7) When You Feel the Urge to Withdraw
- “I can stay for one more moment.”
- “Connection is safe right now.”
Celebration cue: Each time you stay, you expand your capacity for life and relationship.
8) Step 12 Prayer — Type 5
“Higher Power, help me stay present and engaged in my life. Guide me out of isolation and into connection. Let my wisdom be shared through participation, presence, and relationship. Amen.”
Celebration cue: As you stay present and engaged, your life becomes fuller, richer, and more connected.
Summary of Going Deeper: Step 12 for Type 5s is embodied connection — moving from observation into participation. As you show up and engage, your wisdom becomes a living gift to yourself and others.
You are not losing your independence — you are expanding into connection.
