GOING DEEPER: TYPE 5 & STEP TEN
↓
For returning participants: Step 10 is where your insight becomes embodied and connected. For Type 5s, this means noticing when you withdraw into thinking, conserving energy at the expense of connection, and gently returning to presence, participation, and engagement.
Gentle reminder: You do not have to withdraw to be safe. Step 10 helps you stay present, connected, and grounded in real life.
1) Spot-Check in the Moment
Aim: Notice withdrawal early and return to connection.
- Watch: Notice when you retreat into thinking, detach emotionally, or conserve energy by pulling away.
- Ask: “HP, please remove what blocks presence, connection, and participation right now.”
- Admit & Repair: If you disconnected, withheld, or avoided engagement, acknowledge it and reconnect in a small, honest way.
- Help: Step slightly toward life — share one thought, ask one question, stay engaged a little longer.
- Celebration cue: Each small step toward connection is real courage and growth.
2) Signal • Stop • Swap Tool
Aim: Recognize when withdrawal replaces participation and gently re-engage.
| Signal | Underneath | Swap |
|---|---|---|
| Withdrawing or going silent | Fear of depletion or overwhelm | Stay present a bit longer; share one small truth |
| Overthinking instead of engaging | Need to feel prepared or safe | Act with what you know now; engage before perfect clarity |
| Withholding information or energy | Fear of giving too much | Offer something small and meaningful; trust replenishment |
Celebration cue: Each moment of participation strengthens your connection to life and others.
3) Evening Review (3–5 minutes)
Aim: Reflect with clarity and grounded awareness.
- Did selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, or fear show up?
- Did I withdraw, detach, or overthink instead of engaging? Did I apply a swap?
- Who might I owe an apology or living amends tomorrow?
- Where did I stay present, participate, or share honestly?
Celebration cue: Each honest reflection strengthens your ability to live fully and stay connected.
4) Step 10 Prayer — Type 5
“Higher Power, thank You for the gift of insight and understanding. When I withdraw, hold back, or disconnect, gently guide me back to presence. Help me trust that I have enough, that I am enough, and that I can participate fully in life. Lead me into connection, engagement, and trust today. Amen.”
Celebration cue: This prayer helps your insight come alive through connection and participation.
