STEP 11:
“Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.”



GOING DEEPER: TYPE 4 & STEP ELEVEN

For returning participants: Step 11 invites your depth to become steady, grounded, and guided. For Type 4s, conscious contact deepens as you release emotional intensity as your compass and begin trusting the quiet, steady presence of your Higher Power.

Gentle reminder: You do not have to feel something special to be connected. God meets you in the ordinary, the quiet, and the present moment.


1) The 3-Part Daily Rhythm (AM • Midday • PM)

Aim: Build a rhythm of grounded presence instead of emotional searching.

  • Morning (5–7 min): Sit quietly. Pray: “God, show me Your will; give me power to carry it out.” Ask: “What is real right now?” Choose a Guiding Word (e.g., “steady,” “present,” “simple”).
  • Midday (60 sec pause): When emotions rise: inhale “I am here” • exhale “I return.” Ask: “What is actually true right now?”
  • Evening (5 min): Notice where you stayed present vs. got pulled into emotion. Give thanks for grounded moments.
  • Celebration cue: Each return to the present strengthens your connection to reality and peace.

2) Two-Way Prayer — Type 4 Prompts

Aim: Deepen connection beyond emotional experience.

  • “What is true for me right now?”
  • “Where are You in this ordinary moment?”
  • “What am I being invited to accept?”

Write: 2–3 minutes to God → 2–3 minutes receiving.

Celebration cue: Each time you listen, you anchor your depth in truth and connection.


3) Somatic Grounding (Body-Based Meditation for 4s)

Aim: Support emotional balance through your body.

  • Anchor: Feel your feet and body supported.
  • Breath: Slow inhale / longer exhale.
  • Repeat: “This moment is enough.”
  • Micro-cue: Stay with what is, instead of reaching for what feels missing.

Celebration cue: As you ground yourself, your depth becomes steady and life-giving.


4) Discernment Grid — Mine, Theirs, God’s

Aim: Distinguish feelings from truth and guidance.

5) Short Grounding Prayers

  • “God, help me stay present.”
  • “Let this moment be enough.”
  • “Guide me into truth.”

Celebration cue: These simple prayers anchor you in reality and connection.


6) Weekly Listening (15 minutes)

  • Where did I get lost in emotion?
  • Where did I stay grounded?
  • What is God inviting me into?

Celebration cue: This time deepens your steadiness and clarity.


7) When Emotion Takes Over

  • “Let me return to what is real.”
  • “I can stay present.”

Celebration cue: Each return to the present is a powerful act of growth.


8) Step 11 Prayer — Type 4

“Higher Power, help me stay grounded in truth. When emotions pull me away, gently bring me back to what is real. Let me trust Your presence in the ordinary and the quiet. Guide me into steadiness, clarity, and connection. Amen.”

Celebration cue: As you trust what is real, your depth becomes a source of peace and connection.
