STEP 3:
“Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.”

GOING DEEPER: TYPE 6 & STEP THREE
↓
You’ve already done something brave: you’re learning to live without needing perfect certainty first. That is real progress for a Type 6. Going deeper is not about eliminating doubt—it’s about letting trust become your new home base, even when questions remain.
1. Move From One Surrender to Constant Surrender:
Type 6s can sincerely turn it over in the morning, then take it back at the first wave of worry, “what if…,” or worst-case thinking. Going deeper means noticing that moment and practicing surrender again—without judging yourself for being human.
- Deeper Reflection: “Where today did I take back control through worry, checking, or reassurance-seeking? What would it look like to turn it over again right now?”
2. Trust the Flow of Divine Will Instead of Forcing Certainty:
Type 6s often try to feel safe by gathering more information, making airtight plans, or getting the “right” reassurance. Going deeper means trusting that guidance can come one step at a time—and that you can be led without having the full map.
- Practice: When you feel the urge to over-check or over-plan, pause and whisper: “One next step is enough.” Ask your Higher Power: “Show me the next right action.”
3. Transform Doubt Into Devotion:
For Type 6, doubt is often a protective strategy: “If I question everything, I won’t be blindsided.” Going deeper means letting that vigilance soften into devotion—choosing a faithful posture even while uncertainty exists. Devotion isn’t certainty; it’s commitment.
- Inquiry: “What would it look like to bring my doubt to my Higher Power as a prayer instead of a problem to solve?”
4. Let Love Lead the Way:
At this level, Step Three becomes a lived experience of being held. Love leads you out of fear-driven decisions and into steadier ground—where you can act from faith, not panic; from trust, not tension.
- Integration Prompt: “Where can I let Love lead today by choosing one calm, faithful action instead of another round of worry?”
Summary of Going Deeper: For Type 6s, going deeper into Step Three means practicing surrender as a steady rhythm—again and again—until trust becomes stronger than fear. You are not failing when you feel anxious. You are growing each time you return.
If this feels too deep right now, that’s okay.
